Crawlspace Dirt Removal, Waterproofing, Vapor Barrier and Subfloor Repair

This crawlspace in Erie, Colorado was in desperate need of Wilson Construction's help. For around 20 years or more, water from underground had been seeping into this crawlspace; subsequently soaking into the ground throughout this entire 1100 square foot area. When water soaks into dirt, it causes the dirt to expand; which happened here on a large scale. On top of the puddles, mud and moisture, the dirt had expanded to the point there was about 12' of clearance below the joists. This can become a huge structural issue, so we removed excess dirt to the desired 16' inch clearance, using buckets, shovels and a trailer (about 5 loads) we got it done! after the dirt removal, we installed a perimeter drain, encapsulated the crawlspace using 20 mil vapor barrier, and put the 300 square feet of subfloor back that we had removed for access.
